So I am taking Calc 1 this summer and dont get LImit Proofs(Epsilon and Delta). My teacher wont help, he says read the book, which i dont understand and the TA's at this school ,lehman college dont know calc they just TA for Trig stuff, the ones that do know are never there.

In general are there any ways to get help with this stuff when none is availible, books, online resources.

online has some good tutorials for math. just search for stuff online or id look into getting a local tutor for an hour or two to straighten things out for you.

get one of the books with worked examples such as "Calculus Problem Solver" that is under $20 or so. These books have thousands of worked examples with explanations. They probably have a book like this at the college bookstore, if not try amazon.

Im taking a Calculus 1 Class this summer, its actual calculus and not the waterdown thing that some schools offer. Now the class was $250 a credit and the school that it is at sucks and its not my home school, but its local so i took it. The class is 4 credits so about $1000 for tuition, which is very low for NYC.

So Im having trouble in the class for just the first week. The teacher is really bad as he comes 20 minutes late everyday, as well as takes a half and hour break for all the classes and then lets the class out 1 hour early. Its a 3 hour class. The teacher also really teachers fast but its not a good fast. as he is just repeditive but not clear.

so I have some options.

1. Drop the class and Loose 50% of my Tuition, because thats all the school will refund and then take the class at a slower pace in the Fall. But I will get back around $500.

2 Keep Taking the class and probrolly fail it, but then in general will loose the full $1000.

what should I do?
