Calculus III vs Honors Calculus III

Would anybody be able to describe the differences between a Calc III vs Honors Calc III course? Especially: difficulty, time intensiveness, class size, professor quality and anything else I haven’t thought of?

well honors classes have a limit of 15 - 20 kids, i think.

^^^^

The 15 student limit is for Honors College classes…not dept honors classes. Dept honors classes are usually larger, but maybe not as large as non-honors.

As for difficulty…profs…etc…

I would really just pick by profs’ reputations.

oops about the 15-20 thing.

my kid always looks at prof reps. it usually works pretty well. sometimes there is no info. this semester she has a doozie! and not in a good way! ugh!

My kids have liked:

David Halpern
Bruce Trace
Shan Zhao
Dr. Hadji
Dr. Martin
Jim Gleason (he’s famous for not just teaching the how, but also the why)
Martin Evans

And there are probably others that I’m not remembering, but these are their favs.

Dr. Cecelia Laurie was also a fav, but I think she retired.
