Calculus or Statistics??

As an undergrad studying to be a business finance or marketing major, I only need one more math class as a prerequisite. Luckily, I only need to decide between calc or stats, but I’ve never taken either and want to do my best and chose the best one for me! Im pretty good at math, and i’ve heard stats is less math-y and more useful in the real world. What were your experiences for both and which do you suggest is easier to get a good grade in?

I’m an accounting major and I too had to take several math classes. I can say from my experiences, I would advise statistics because its more usable and I end up using it a lot more than anything I learned in calculus. Also I think statistics will aid you in all aspects of business where calculus really only aids in upper-level economics and some upper-level finance courses (from what I’ve heard).

As for easier to get a grade in, well considering they are probably both entry-level, I’d say statistics because 99% of entry-level statistics can be or is done using a calculator so it’s just a matter of plugging data into the right places (granted I like accounting so I’m kinda biased :stuck_out_tongue: ). I found my Calculus I and II class both easy but I did do it a lot more by hand and it required a bit more practice.
