Calculus placement exam

I'm having two conflicting stories online.

If I pass AB calc do I still have to take this placement exam? According to one link I do and according to another I dont. Which one is it?!?!?!

You mean the class or exam? The class doesn’t matter. If you get a 3 or higher on the AP then you can enroll in Math 2A without the placement exam.

Oh and the calc placement test is free. just saying!

if you pass the AP exam you don’t have to take placement but if uci isn’t going to have your scores by the time you get to enroll, you should have taken the placement anyway

Alright one more question.

if I get a 3 on Calc AB that places me in math 2A.
So does the calc placement exam place one in math 2A at highest not 2B? So If i get a 3 on Calc AB then I don’t have to drive down to Irvine and take the Calculus placement exam?

yeah, it looks like 2A is the highest you can reach through placement. if you get a 3 on the AP exam, you will be able to enroll in math 2a, and if you get a 4/5, you can enroll in 2B.
