My school only offers AB calculus, and, through various practice tests, it has been determined that I could snag a 5 no doubt. So, I am self-studying for BC. Should it go horribly wrong and I get a 3, does Columbia offer its own placement exam so I don't have to take Calc I?

No we don’t, but I’m pretty sure that even if you take BC you get your score broken down into the AB part and the BC part. Also, worst case scenario, you take Calc I here and get an easy A. Trust me, the GPA boost isn’t that terribly painful.

I don’t think that they take the subscore though…

I’ve taken BC and gotten the 5 and the 5 AB subscore. I’m in Calc 3/Diff Equ right now.

But I just generally dislike math. Can I start at Columbia in Calc 1 or something for the easy As for a few units of math?
