Calculus Question

I'm going to be a freshman this fall and plan to be a biology major so I know I have to take calc first semester. I got a 1 on the BC exam because I didn't try at all nor did I understand much of calculus the past two years because of my school's weird math system. Junior year I took a pre-BC class they made up and the teacher taught us about irrelevant topics and senior year my BC teacher spent the whole year on statistics so I'm very unconfident in my math abilities. Having said that, would it be stupid or put me at a disadvantage to take calc I since I've already taken BC or is it more beneficial to establish a strong foundation?

Calc I teaches you how to take all different kinds of derivatives and integrals, as well as some fundamental applications of derivatives and integrals. If you feel like you can’t really differentiate or integrate any complex functions, I think you should probably take Calc 1.

Check out the calculus placement exam if you want to be sure. If the Readiness for Calculus II exam is too difficult, definitely take Calc 1.

Doesn’t the BC exam give you an AB sub score? What’d you get on that?
If you’re really unsure about calc (like you seem to be), you should probably start with Calc 1.
