Calculus Readiness Requirement for UT Engineering?

I am applying to UT Austin but I have a question. I am in AP Calculus BC this year and one of the ways to fulfill this requirement is to submit a score of 3 or higher on this AP test by the admissions deadline. I dont understand how I can do that if I don't get the results until July. Do they just want proof that I am in this class and accept me on the grounds that they can reject me if I dont get a 3 or above? How would you go about doing this? Im probably misunderstanding something.

I just read that if I have an ACT math score of 26 or above I can still continue in the admissions process but must present the calculus readiness requirement by the friday before fall classes start or else i get removed from engineering. I scored a 32 so does this mean that I will still be accepted into engineering but I must send them proof of a 3 or above on the ap test before classes start to remain in the program?

As a freshmen, you’ll be able to register for whatever basic classes you need without any AP scores. The calculus readiness requirement is really a very low cut-off designed to catch the wholly under-prepared students. Submitting your ACT score will cover it along with a C- or better in Calc on your HS transcript.

You shouldn’t need to worry about it and if, for some reason, you do then it won’t come in to play until the Summer at which time you can talk to your adviser about it over Summer Orientation.

Ok thanks! when I saw that there was a dec. 1 deadline i was confused because it would be impossible to have an ap calc exam grade to submit.
