In my AP Physics there were two or three kids who had taken BC the year before so we didn't really talk about differential equations at all. We did go over the applications of differential equations in physics problems in Calc though.

"well if I think Calc AB is hard in high school... I really dont even want to think about what I'd be in for at Cornell"
It's probably easier. Mostly because, you know, the professors are like, some of the best in the world in their field...

I had the best professor in Math 112. I don't even like math but I loved going to her class, however lame that may sound, lol. I found 112 to be easier than high school calc, because it is more theoretical than computational.

if you took AB in HS you will take MATH 111, 112, or 122. I took all 3 my first semester. in 122 I had an awesome professor, but it was too advanced for me. I dropped to 112 where I had a heavily russian accented TA who wasn't the best teacher, and i was 3 weeks behind, so I promptly dropped to 111 where I rocked that shizzle. However, the teacher was very good, she was a TA, but excellent at explaining things and always knew exactly what kids were asking when they were confused.

If you find AB hard, even if you get a 3, 4, or 5, take MATH 111. I got a 5 on AB, and found the course pretty easy, but honestly, you don't really have to know anything to get a 3. You can get a 4 knowing only the derivative rules...

thanks for the advice :) I have a question. Someone told me that humec admissions makes you take a math placement test freshman year. Does that mean that you don't really have any flexibility in choosing what math you take?

No, you can take math placement if you want higher placement. As long as you got a 3 on AB and are good at schmoozing people, you can take 111 ("I want to strengthen the basics of my calculus foundation"), 112, (no explanation necessary), or 122 ("I want to challenge myself" although you will fail this course unless you got a 5 on AB or a 4 on BC haha)

If you place in the lowest group I'm pretty sure you have to take a remedial class.

what do you mean spanks? isn't it CALS with the placement test. CAS has no required test to my knowledge.

She's in human ec and said they have one.
