hey any of u guys here getting a calgrant but the money hasnt tranferred to your zot account yet? b/c that's what happening with me...getting kind of worried since fees are due by wednesday.

Did you make sure you classes are paid for yet? (By checking your zotaccount or zotportal?) If you did, you probably should call UCI’s financial aid office ASAP.

I have a friend that also hasn’t received her Cal Grant. She called financial aid and they told her that she had to pay for whatever was left ( Her grants covered some of her registration fees but not all). So she has to pay and her money would later be refunded once she receives the cal grant. I’m not exactly sure how it works that’s just what she told me. She also told me that she received an email saying that her cal grant was confirmed so she might be getting it soon. You need to call ASAP!Goodluck!

^yeahh ive checked all my accounts and i also got the same email about calgrant. i contacted the finaid office and they told me to wait till today…but it still hasn’t shown up.
just called again and theyre busy >< grrr

Just to be sure, did you make sure you actually accepted your aid? Like, you actually pressed the “process my aid” button and went through all 4 steps?

I myself forgot to do that since this year I don’t have any aid other than a Cal Grant, which already says “confirmed” so I forgot I still needed to “accept” it by processing my aid and completing the steps. After I did that it took about a day for it to be credited to my Zot Account. Before all of this, my account didn’t have any Cal Grant money either and I was starting to freak out.

^ yeah i did that …should redo that? lol idk

haha I was just asking to make sure, because I felt super dumb when I realized that was why my Zot Account wasn’t credited If you did that I think that’s all you can do for now. Hoping the best for you! Sometimes they don’t pay until the day before the deadline, but in these cases it might be best to assume you have to pay it all and they will reimburse you later because it’s pretty risky (losing all your classes) :/

haha thanks for the heads up though! and yeahh it is pretty risky…i think im just gonna pay for now

OP, your fees will only be paid if you have registered for the minimum of 12 units.

^yeahh ive already done that =/

omg yes! they just paid! ahhh yay! thanks for all ur guys help/concern (:

For the Academic Competitiveness Grant for First Year, it says unconfirmed for me. Is it like that for anyone else?

@PoorCookie: i think you mightve been right though…i reaccepted my aid and the CalGrant showed up on my zotaccount haha soo thanks for that!

Also for anyone that may be confused your grant money is split up into the 3 quarters.

So for example, if you got $9k with grants, you would get $3k each quarter. And UCI’s tuition is roughly $12k (about $4k a quarter). So you would still need to pay an additional $1k each quarter.

The system is not set up to pay off all of your tuition for the first quarter, then you have the leftover money to pay for second and third.

@watcollege lol that’s funny. Maybe it helped, maybe it didn’t but at least it didn’t hurt to try haha. I’m glad everything’s ok now.

@mixedup92 make sure you accept your award if possible and process your aid like I mentioned earlier. Otherwise, I think they award the scholarship money on a first come first serve basis since there is a limited amount (not sure though), so that might explain why you haven’t gotten yours yet.
