I mailed my cal grant on Feb 17, but I just got an email saying that they didn't receive my cal grant gpa verification form. I bought a certificate of mailing like they told me to, but what does this do anyways--it doesnt change the fact that they havent received it. Now it is Feb 27, and I will have to go get another one signed by counselor, and end up mailing it tomorrow, 2 days before due date. I have no idea how post office system works...can they find my gpa verification form? Would I get less money from the government if I submit it now? I heard that the sooner you submit it, the more money you get. I think this is unfair and I blame the post office, but is there anything i can do about it?

Doesn't matter if you file it sooner or later, so long as it meets the deadline. Don't count on the postal service to bail you out-- easier to just send another one.

Print one out from here:

and have it signed tomorrow and get another cert of mailing. Deadline is March 2nd (Thursday)-- so you've got a couple days.

Then, if your FAFSA is filed, you can check the status of your CalGrant online here:

yeah that similar thing happened to me with my pitt scholarship app, but generally they are leniant, especially if u can ask ur counselor to write a note that u sent it. kudos on sending it way ahead on time though, i always get my stuff in like 2 days before...like my fafsas due mar 1.
