<p>In determining whether you are eligible for financial aid do they check how much money you have in your bank accounts? So if you have a load of cash in your bank account will they give you less financial aid/cal grant money?</p>
<p>It is a factor. When you fill out FAFSA there should be a section called assets, and it will tell you that you should count money in any bank accounts as part of your total.</p>
<p>If you are dependent, then you will have to submit the amount of money in you and your parents or guardians’ bank accounts?</p>
<p>Yes, they’ll look at both for CalGrants. Always better, if you can do it, to have as little in the student’s account as possible, though.</p>
