Hey Yalies!

I found out from LifeJournal that I am in Calhoun. Can anyone tell me about their experiences with Calhoun? Good food? good freshmen housing? Is there anything that sets Calhoun apart?

check out the new lj links to YDN articles on each college. I read in the article that Calhoun has good food, but heard otherwise from some 08ers. Calhoun is know for housing both the best intellects and some of the best athletes (at least intramural). Calhoun has already been renovated so we'll never have to stay in swingspace. The renovation added a sauna, weight room, studio, and a tire swing in the courtyard. Bingham is supposed to be some of the best freshman housing, especially if you're in the rotunda....entryway c.

You guys will only get minor renovations (changed windows), but aside from that, it's got a great location (right off cross campus), yet is fully contained (unlike Berkeley). It's also a smaller college with a cozier feel, yet has a courtyard, however small. Overall, looks like a good place to live!

I'm in da 'Houn, '07. It's a great college, great architecture, feels very Irish and a bit overgrown like something out of Lord of the Rings. Really cool though. The food is, indeed, one of the bottom two or three at Yale. It's still far above most university food though, no worries. Bingham is amazing, the rooms in entryway C are really big and nice (or mine was, BC13c), but entrys A and B are more social because they're stacked more tightly. If anyone has any questions, I'd be happy to answer them; I'm interning and so summer's being a bit boring. My email's robrrb@gmail[dot]com. I have an occasionally updated livejournal too, id robrrb-- feel free to add me.

my brother was in Calhoun and he loved it!
