I am interested in both schools, and i am going for a visit at the end of the summer, does anyone have any pros or cons for either school. I am a rising senior, gpa 3.8, act 24, in many clubs. I am looking for easy public transportation. Campus life within a city. good weather, good schools and such... any help?

San Diego State 100%

SDSU is so much better, and it's not even close.

I think when you visit, your choice will become very clear. They are very different types of schools in very different cities.

Personally, in terms of campus life and weather, I'd give SDSU the edge. The SD trolley now stops directly on the SDSU campus as well. But, really, you'll see the differences between these schools as soon as you visit, and you'll know which one is right for you. Good luck!

SFSU is a mediocre school that is comprised mostly of commuters. San Diego State is also somewhat of a commuter school, but they do have a lot of activities going on on campus. San Diego State is on the rise academically and has a few programs that are quite good (Business). On the negative side, SDSU is enormous and almost everyone takes at least 5 years to graduate. It's pretty difficult to get classes.

Thats all good to know. I want to know more about the SDSU, and taking longer to graduate. That kinda worries me. Which one do you think that i will have more of the "campus life" in. I want campus life in a city area. I am looking to study business. Also does anyone know much about the student life such as dorms conditions or activities.

SDSU for sure. Both schools are located within very large cities. San Diego is the 8th Largest city in the United States, and in my opinion the nations finest city. San Francisco is the 14th largest city in the nation and also has a good rep for a big city with much to see. SDSU is better overall academically, has a better rep, and is more fun to attend. Personally, i would rather live in San Diego than San Fran for many reasons, but visit both, im sure youll like one more than the other.

SDSU also offers more of the traditional "college experience" in the sense that it is a Div. I school for athletics - big in football and basketball, etc. SFSU, by contrast, is Div. II.

SFSU is also on a trolley line, as well as multiple bus lines. But it is mostly a commuter school. I have two friends who went there and they really loved the professors.

Which city do you like better?

SFSU!!! that place is awesome; right across from Stonestown shopping center
