Caliber of MIT Maker Portfolio Items

I’m contemplating submitting a Maker Portfolio, but I’m not sure if my project will just be laughed at instead of benefitting my application. I was perusing threads on here about the portfolios, and one user said he/she had a 300-page PDF of technicalities. Is that normal…?

Not too comfortable divulging specifics of what I made because I’d like to stay anonymous, but all my project required was basic, AP 1 level physics and some art skill. I think it’s unique in that no other applicant will be likely to submit something even remotely similar, but is it worth taking the time to submit considering the math/science behind it isn’t that impressive?

I don’t think it can hurt you. It may help you stand out as an interesting or creative person.
