California Chances

I am currently an OOS Junior looking to apply to a couple of california schools next year and would like some honest opinions.

My school is OOS but is one of the top public high schools in the nation.

Schools I am looking to apply to:
USC
UCB
UCLA
UCSD

Weighted GPA: 4.23
UC GPA: 3.92

ACT Composite: 33

AP Classes: US, Calc (Will take Stats, Macroeconomics, and Physics next year)

Something that makes me stick out is my pro I have been designing iOS apps for the past couple of years and currently have a published app on the top 100 free apps in the app store.

My ECs are pretty standard in terms of sports and volunteering, I am actively looking for an internship this summer and will hopefully be able to include that on my application.

I’ll probably end up applying undecided to increase my chances for the more selective schools unless applying under computer science would be beneficial due to prior experience.

Will chance back!

Your UC GPA is a little low and you’re lacking course-rigor/APs but everything else is great for all of those schools. Applying as undecided generally will not raise your chances. In fact, not having a passion/decided major can hurt you. ECs could use some work(I guess? you dont specify what hey are but considering you don’t think they’re great you might want to work on them.).

Overall:
USC: High Match
UCB: High Match/Low Reach
UCLA: Match
UCSD: Match

Look at my thread? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1736076-chances-for-an-uninformed-highschooler.html#latest

As an OOS applicant, can you afford the $55K/year cost of attending any of the UC’s?? You will get little to no financial aid and unless you qualify for regents, no merit aid. USC would be a different story where with your Stats would have a good chance at merit aid. That being said, your chances are very good chances at these schools.

UCLA/UCB: High Match
USC/UCSD: Match

If you are really interested in CS, I would apply for that major. For many schools, it could be difficult to change.
Good Luck.
