Hello All, I’m just wondering if anyone has any suggestions about what school I should try to transfer to by fall of next year.
I’m leaning towards something in California, since I am a student under DACA, I am barred from the top schools here in GA.
Here are my stats:
HS GPA: W: 91.738 UW: 89.115
AP’s taken: AP language/American Lit, APUSH, AP Psyc, AP Art History, AP English, AP Macroeconomics, AP Physics (flunked out after one semester, changed to Honors Physics and recieved an A), AP Studio Art, AP US Gov.
Honors courses taken: H English, H Physics
SAT: 1550
Currently enrolled at Georgia Perimeter College (highest degree available is an Associate’s)
Major: Biology
GPA: 3.90 (30 credits completed, 16 in-progress)
In the Honors program, have taken 8 Honors classes in total (only one B in one honors history course)

there are certainly less expensive 4 year colleges in other states because CA is just an expensive place to live. NY state offers great OOS costs of attendance at its publics. FL does as well. Minnesota, too. Depending on your situation, you might be able to transfer to a private school that offers a lot of financial aid to attract high-GPA transfers.
You need to check what state colleges are DACA-friendly.
GA Perimeter has an agreement with GA State and GA Tech, right?
See what Spelman and Agnes Scott’s policies are (if you’re female).
You might also want to retake that SAT.
I agree with jkeil: focus on MN and SUNYs, as well as colleges in the Dakotas, Utah (not sure how they see DACA but definitely easier than other states to get residency there, so??)
What’s your budget?
OOS costs at CA public universities would be 55K for the UCs, and about 32-34k for the CSUs (Cal Poly, SDSU…? What major are you thinking of?)
I can’t get into GA State or Tech because of my DACA status.
I believe all private universities in GA allow DACA students to apply.
The major I’m thinking of is Biology (probably focused on Microbio if allowed)
I don’t exactly have a limit, I have the incredible opportunity to worry about cost. My brother is very successful and is handling all financials.
Would it be smart to take the SAT even though I’m about to complete 46 credits?
Are you saying you can pay anything or about? Or do you have a limit?
46 credits + all your Ap credits should make it un-necessary to retake the SAT but check and make sure, because the colleges where you can go with a 3.97 ARE NOT the same that you can hope for with your current (old) score
Most California publics take students from CA community colleges.
What’s your major?
