Does anyone else have a hunch that California is gonna get a really big earthquake some time in the next couple weeks? After Haiti and Chile, we're overdue for another quake and Cali seems to be the next most reasonable place for it to happen.

Are you people in California generally nervous about that?

Whenever I think about the prospect of it, I’m absolutely terrified. I was at a mall food court last week with my sister and I literally could feel the ground shaking under me as I ate, but she claimed not to feel a thing. I don’t know if it’s just paranoia or it really was an extremely mild earthquake, haha.

^extremely mild earthquake. A bunch of earthquakes occur everyday, but they’re only weak according to the Richter scale.

An earthquake like Haiti, it’s 7.0 and there’s usually around 10 of those (7.0-7.9) every year. An earthquake at Chile, it’s 8.8. One or two(8.0+) occurs every year.

Scientists have been calling for that earthquake for years. But hey, the buildings in my area are still standing. I would consider spending time on something more production than worrying about death. I mean come on, you are gonna die at some point in your life anyways, why not make it entertaining?

Well the Whittier/Greater Los Angeles region felt a 4.4 one last week. It woke me up at 4:04 AM in the morning, oddly.
There are rumors going around that a 4.5 to 6.5 earthquake is likely going to occur in Southern California anywhere between March 25-28. Most likely on March 26 between Parkfield and NW Los Angeles.

Lol, I’m really not that scared and I basically live on the San Andreas fault line. And no, I don’t think we’ll have a MAJOR earthquake in the next couple of weeks.

If we did, it would definitely be tragic but it wouldn’t be as big of a deal as it’s been in Haiti/Chile. We have more money and better healthcare so we can handle the situation better.

We just had a big one here in SoCal last year, in May or June. We’re hardly overdue.
