<p>Why did wisconsin decide that this was the year to reject and defer all the really good students who had it as a safety? What are they waiting for?!</p>
<p>I doubt you have the data to support that theory. OOS apps have been going up and getting better all the time.</p>
<p>If you mean a “postpone” that just means they have to wait to see (along with a lot of others) until the application deadline has passed and all applications have been reviewed. There will be stellar kids who finally apply in January like mine did- some after hearing early decision results from some private schools. It is rolling admissions- and with more applications it is harder for UW to admit similar percentages as years ago and still save room for the top applicants.</p>
<p>The concept of a safety school changes yearly. Students who got in a few years ago may not get in this year- it all depends on the applicant pool. If UW becomes more popular many students who may have dismissed it years ago may now be applying- skewing the earlier admissions to higher stats.</p>
