I really would like to go to college in California and I would like to major in nursing. What are some good California colleges that offer nursing? I know UCLA and I do want to go there but I know its extremely competitive and I need some more choices. Thanks!
Do you want direct admit 4 year or a 2+2? What are your stats? If you are OOS, any CSU or UC would be pricey since you will not receive financial aid. CSU’s would cost around $36K/year and UC’s around $55K/year.
I’m only starting my junior year this fall but my GPA is above 4.0 but I haven’t taken the SAT yet but I plan to this year. Yes I’m OOS. Why do does colleges not offer financial aid?
And I would prefer a direct admit that’s why I liked UCLA.
California public schools like the Cal States and UC’s offer mainly need based aid for in-state students and since tax payers help pay for these schools, in-state applicants get the FA and the priority. If you want FA, then you should target the private schools in California.
The direct admit Nursing public schools are UCLA/UCI/SDSU and CSU Fullerton. The rest of the Cal States offer a 2+2 program.
For Privates, I believe there is only University of San Francisco, Dominican University and Azusa Pacific for Direct admit but many more such as Univ of San Diego. Point Loma, Mount St Mary’s, USC, Biola that offer 2+2 programs.
Attached is a link of all the schools. Not sure what is your home state, but most Nursing programs in California are super competitive and impacted. You would have a better chance for admission along with costs if you consider some other states such as Oregon/Washington/Arizona for nursing programs.
