SCHOOLS

  1. USC-Computational Mathematics (In Dornsife Letters and Science)
  2. UCI- Electrical Engineering
  3. UCSD- Electrical Engineering
  4. UCLA- Materials Engineering (32% Acceptance Rate)
  5. CMU ED!-Mechanical Engineering
  6. JHU- Computer Engineering (Should I ED here instead?)
  7. UCSB- Computer Engineering

Questions:
Would retaking Math II for 800 make a difference?
Should I ED to CMU or JHU, for best chances?

I think you have a high chance of getting into all of the UC schools because 1. you are in state and 2. you are definitely qualified. I think you have a good chance with CMU and JHU as well, but it will be a bit trickier because they are private. Overall, I feel confident you will get into almost all of the schools. Please post your UC GPA. http://rogerhub.com/gpa-calculator-uc/

@TooOld4School as stated above it’s a 4.0

I think you’re more than qualified for those UC’s. You’re honestly set. Sorry I couldn’t give you feedback on JHU or CMU–I’m not applying to either but both are very prestigious. You should apply to Ivies, too.

@dyafai Thanks for the advice! I know I won’t get into Ivies though

Thanks for chancing me! As some people above have already said you are set for the UC schools (the only one I could foresee as iffy is UCLA, but if I were you I’d still be confident I’d get in). As for CMU, your SAT and GPA are a bit lower than the average accepted, but you’re SAT II’s are solid and your ECs are very nice, so I would classify it as Low Reach-Reach. I assume the same thing holds true for JHU.

I think you’ve got a really good chance for most of them. JHU could be a bit hard though. The only thing I guess you could improve would be your GPA and SAT score, but I think your extracurriculars make up for it.

JHU as a low reach. CMU ED should be fine. Go where you want. You’ll be in at the UC’s and USC

Your stats and ECs are very good and I think you have a high chance at all of the California schools. JHU and CMU might barely be low reaches with scores, but with what I said about your ECs, I think you’d be fine with those as well. Thanks for chancing me and good luck!

UC’s and USC are a match. JHU is probably a reach. CMU low reach? Not too familiar with the school though. Good luck!

Don’t think you’ll be let down for any. I’m also applying to CMU but to the comp sci school. good luck!

  1. USC-Computational Mathematics (In Dornsife Letters and Science) -- High Match
  2. UCI- Electrical Engineering -- Match
  3. UCSD- Electrical Engineering --Match
  4. UCLA- Materials Engineering (32% Acceptance Rate) --Match
  5. CMU ED!-Mechanical Engineering --High Match
  6. JHU- Computer Engineering (Should I ED here instead?) --Low Reach
  7. UCSB- Computer Engineering --Match
