I'm an OOS student and I want to apply to one Cali school since it is a good area for my major (CS). I know the UC schools don't have good money for OOS students and I am not applying to stanford. So what Cali schools have good financial aid ?

California privates would have the best financial aid but would require high stats to be eligible for merit scholarships.
I would look at USC, Santa Clara, Harvey Mudd and Pomona Colleges.

^^
Pomona College does not offer merit scholarship. Only need based aid.

CSUs are around $30,000 to $35,000 for out-of-state students, with no financial aid other than federal aid.

UCs are around $50,000 to $55,000 for out-of-state students; financial aid does not cover the additional out-of-state tuition ($23,000 of the cost).

That leaves privates, but they tend to be expensive at list price. Check their net price calculators to see what their financial aid estimates for you will be.

Give Santa Clara a serious look. Great Silicon Valley location, highly respected, and they are generous with merit aid. My S2 received his best offer from Santa Clara.

Yeah I was thinking about Santa Clara as well because I think they might give me enough or close enough aid so I could go there. I’ll keep lookinginto SCU then
