I would like some feedbak on CSULB(california state university long beach) and CSU fullerton.
First i want to know about location:Long beach or Fullerton.Which is a better city overall( public transportation, things to do, crime etc)
If a person is interested in Business and film wich one would you recommend?
Any other information will be appreciated

bumppppppppppp

They are both cool cities. Fullerton is close to disneyland, however its a commuter campus. LB is by the beach, but the crime rate might be a little higher.

Its not by any means a dangerous place to live or anything.

CSULB is great for business and film.

I think Steven Speilberg graduated from there.

and my parents graduated for CSULB with business degrees.

maybe I'm just being biased. lol.

(but I think Fullerton has a nicer surrounding area, just a thought!)

Anyone...........

Transportation
The public transportation used in both Long Beach and Fullerton are buses. Long Beach is in a lower income area and Fullerton is more suburban, so I would think the bus system would be more used in Long Beach. Fullerton has an Amtrak train station (not walking distance from the campus, maybe 3-5 miles away) that you can take all the way down to San Diego, up to LA, and as far north as Santa Barbara. I know LA county (where Long Beach is) does have a metro rail system that goes into LA, but I'm not sure if there is a stop near the Long Beach campus.

Safety
Personally, I would think Fullerton is in a better area than Long Beach. If my daughter said she was going to th grocery store late at night, I would definately recommend that she not go alone in Long Beach, but would feel more comfortable in Fullerton.

Housing
Both campuses are commuter campuses, but do offer some on campus housing. However, if you had to get off campus housing I would think Long Beach would be slightly cheaper. The area around Long Beach is a little older, where Fullerton is in Orange County and cost of living is a little bit more expensive.

Things to Do
Well Long Beach is more known for it's basketball team and I think probably has more school spirit. Fullerton has a good baseball team, but that's not a sport that brings in huge crowds of spectators. I know Fullerton has an active greek system (but not at the level of the USC type school), not too sure about Long Beach.

Location to LA
Both schools are not close to downtown LA, which may be a consideration when getting internships in the entertainment film industry. However, Fullerton does have Disneyland, Angels Baseball stadium, and the Ducks Hockey stadium near by. Long Beach is near the beach, It is closer to shipping ports, the Queen Mary, and the Long Beach aquarium.

Weather
Long Beach is more coastal and tends to have more early morning fog. Fullerton is more in land and probably run 5-10 degrees warmer.
