For those of you that already have there permit or license..how hard is the permit test? Did you pass it on your first try? Did it require a lot of studying? Do you remember any of the questions? I'm taking my permit test on Monday! Thanks :)

I took mine in NYS but I’m assuming they are similar. It’s 20 questions and you need to get 14 or more correct to pass. It was extremely easy and a your local DMV there should be a booklet that you can study to become familiar with all the rules of driving. Honestly you don’t even really need to study because it’s mostly common sense

I winged it.

I passed.

Yes! Something that pertains to me!

It depends. I studied for about 2-3 weeks and missed 7 first try. The most you can miss is 8 so I passed with one to spare. Some tests are easier than others and plenty of the questions are on wht you most likely already know. Then there’s the stuff you don’t know, which is why you should study the “driving in california” book a bit.

If you’re think you know all the stuff, consider this: Do you know first hand what hydroplaning is?

Read the pamphlet while I was waiting in line. Barely passed the permit, but I passed nonetheless. Only missed three points on the actual driving test (didn’t go into the bike lane early enough for right turns).

If your local DMV is crowded, you can basically study the Driver’s Manual while you wait for your test and pass it on the spot. I passed mine the first time without studying before test day. Do note that you will fail miserably if you don’t read through the Manual.

the written permit test was such a piece of cake. I missed like 3 questions.

Im taking the driving test soon, and im pretty nervous. Hope i pass!

The difficulty of the driving test really depends on the area where you’re driving. If you’re taking the test in downtown LA or something (just guessing based on your location), it’s going to be much harder than when I took mine in a kinda isolated part of the IE.

I read the pamphlet thing on the way to taking my license test. It’s all common sense, you should just review some of the more obscure road signs because I definitely got 2 questions I otherwise wouldn’t have because I knew the road signs (they were like “end divided highway” and something else, i forget). Oh and also review the fees for drunk driving and other offenses because those were the ones I got wrong. overall I missed 5, it was easy and even if you don’t study you should be fine.
