Mine still says “completed application”. I was reading a thread on here about last term “fall 2012” & no out of local area students got accepted. They all got declined & csusm didn’t even look at their app. I’m afraid that’ll happen again this year.

@UCkat89 congratulations! I hope I do hear something soon

If you don’t mind me asking what was your major?

Thank you. My major is Spanish but going to double with English.

Are you in the area?

@Smurray09 I’m in the San Diego Community College district if that’s what you mean. More specifically I applied from Mesa College.

Thanks guys for all your answers!

My goal is moving back home (Illinois) and going to a state school there (UIC or NWU) but do to personal issues, I may be forced to stay out here in California. If I do, I want to go to San Marcos.

Does what community college you went to make a big difference? Ive been attending Central Texas College (alot of its classes transfer right over to SDSU) Ive earned about 33-36 credits with them. I plan on start going to MiraCosta or Palomar this summer, and full time this fall. Do you foresee any problems arising from my situation?

Also, if it is a factor or not, I have a GPA of 3.1

Hey weslyns32,

Unfortunately, CSUs are VERY impacted and majority of the schools accept transfer students by the CCC that they are going to, I know this because I got rejected from SDSU and a lot of people said if I would’ve gone to SDCC or Grossmont, I would’ve got in. If you’re planning on going to MiraCosta, then I believe that you have a high chance of getting into San Marcos. You’re GPA is good enough to get into also. Just make sure you have a min. of 60 credits to transfer or else they’ll deny you for being a “lower division transfer”.

Okay thank you that’s good to know.

Has any out of area students heard anything yet. (ca residents still)?

Still nothing… I hate waiting.

How long have you been waiting? How long is average?

I’ve been out of high school for about four years been doing cc a little here and there, forgot how long everything takes.

I got one more question you might find it bizarre but let’s say four years ago I got accepted to sdsu but I never attended would they let me come being they took me (very long ago I know) but I didn’t attend?

Well I applied in November and I’ve been waiting since then to hear anything. So a good couple months, supposedly May 1st is the deadline, then again I heard June 1st is the deadline so I’m a bit lost there.

As far as the SDSU thing, I would say you may have a shot at getting in if you’ve got accepted before, but then again SDSU has became so overcrowded that they may not. It’s hard to say.

Same here. Applied in November, haven’t heard anything from anyone.

Yup… I’m gonna be so ****ed off if I have to wait until May/June to be told I was denied.

@moniiique I know. I applied to 4 schools and got denied from my 1st choice: SDSU. CSUSM is my 2nd choice. It’s getting real frustrating waiting this long and not hearing anything.

Exactly! I feel like they should just deny student as soon as they know they are not going to accept them! It’s ridiculous to make anyone wait 5/6 months.

How many schools did you apply to?

Sent from my MOMO9-3

To my dismay, only 3 schools. That’s all my budget would allow haha.
