Call from a proffesor?

Yes, I know professor is with two s's and one f
I just suck at typing
Anyways:
I just received a phone call from a professor of engineering at Rice
I want to gather info on how common of an occurrence it is
I'm seriously not trying to brag or give myself an ego massage because honestly, my application is less than stellar

I got one as well. Since I applied to humanities college, I got an English professor. It was pretty interesting - I didn't really have a question so I kind of babbled for a bit, and he ended up giving me a long, interesting response. As a recruiting technique, I think it's pretty effective!

UT has also given me calls before, but that was a student and not a professor.

oh jeez should we be expecting calls or something now? thats a little scary haha

Yup, I got a call from a sociology professor. He seemed nice! But yeah, I think it’s a large scale thing.

Argh, I saw a “713” area code and didn’t pick up… But I listened to the voice mail and he was nice. =] My parents said I should call him back, but I didn’t think that was a great idea since he probably has many other students to call.

Call him back. If he took the time to call you, Im sure there was a reason and it will be worth it

i got a call from an engineering professor as well. i intend to call him back tomorrow:)

^I remember reading that you might not come to Rice because of financial reasons. Are you considering Rice once again? =]

well we will have to see how the outside scholarship thing works. i still want to call the prof back and ask him about rice, and even about grad school, if i cannot come to rice for undergrad. but rice is still a financial impossibility for me at the present moment.
