call todays

AWWW Mike called this morning. It was soo good to hear his voice! He said they start classes Wed and his has about 17 units which he is a little nervous about but i reassured him that he is so smart and everyone around him will be studying so he wont feel left out :)
He also said they are suppose to get their comps tomorrow! YAY.

So then I heard someone call out '1 min" and then he got all flusterd saying "ok yeah i love you, how are you, what have you been doing, yeah i love you" HAHA it was so funny. I started to answer him then could hear someone yelling "10, 9, 8, 7..." and Mike gave me a phone kiss and hung up. I looked at my phone and it said 4:19. That wasnt 5 min!!!!!!!!!!!!!
:) But its ok, we will get to talk soon enough.
5 weeks till we all fly out, fun fun.

ps- i am dying it is 107 in southern cali. oh my goodness. i wish i was in NY where it was raining.

I heard that cell phones were passed out today as well, so he asked for his to be sent. It sounded like they are glad Indoc is over, but a little nervous for classes to start.

Even though it was after 12:00 ET, our call was only for 5min., maybe less....so much for the rumor that they could possibly talk longer if Indoc was over. She said that Indoc is officially over and she and her deckmates were joking around with their DIs this morning. She didn't know if she could have her cell phone yet or not, it's up to her CTO, so I guess that's different for every company. They had to change rooms/roomates last night, but she is able to stay with the Indoc roomate which is good because they get along. She will be able to send e-mails as soon as she gets her computer. She got her schedule last week and is happy that she must have passed the swim test as she is not in remedial swimming. She sounded tired and hoarse, but otherwise okay. Good luck with all the calls today!

I'm glad we stuck around this morning so we didn't miss our call like last week.
Our son called at 9:45am. He sounded tired, energetic, hoarse and confident.
He said they would get their computers in a few days.
They had not been given box numbers yet.
He likes his DIs (said same in his letters) and his roommates.
He enjoyed participating in the drill competition.
Might be able to use cellphone; depends on CTO's decision.
Thanked us for food package.

FYI indoc isnt over yet, it'll be officially over tonight

There was so much noise in the background when we talked to our son that it was difficult to hear him. But he sounded good and positive.

He was real funny, he thanked us for sending out an iron to him and then asked if we could ship an ironing board. LOL. I suppose the money we used to spend in filling up a tank for him is now being spent on postage. I told him that he'd wait until parents weekend for the board.

It was good to just hear the energy in his voice.

PS cjp, it has been in the mid nineties here in the PNW; we are all wilting as we are 'soft" when it comes to heat up here. I can only imagine what 107 feels like
