I was just called from the cell phone of an alumnus to set up an interview in Seattle. Does that happen to everyone? Am I special?? Am i typical?? Hahah, I just don’t know…

I just got emails :s

The people who do interviews are Penn alums who sign on to do them. Penn (and most other schools) gives them your information and a deadline by which to conduct the interview. It's completely up to the interviewer how they contact you.

haha, i got called from my interviewer via his cell phone yesterday too, and my interview is on sunday :)

I havent been contacted... should I call the admissins office? or just hold tight and hope for the best?

some people don't receive interviews. they just don't have enough alumni to interview everybody...

Anybody in NJ getting contacted for interviews?

yup, got called on Wednesday; she left a message on my home phone... my interview is Sunday!!

anyone have any special advice in regards to Penn interviews?

im from new jersey, i have one tomorrow

sportsman8433, are you in southern NJ? Did you submit your application a while before the deadline? Just trying to figure out if there is any reason why some get called in the same and some don't, even if they are in the same area. thanks

i'm from southern nj, and when i applied, i was the only person in my school who didn't get an interview (out of at least 30-some who applied)

the reason for some getting called and some not generally has to do with the assignment of applicants to various alumni, some of which just don't end up getting to their list. this is why the admissions office doesn't control whether you ultimately receive one or not, and why they can't really help you if you call.
