Called USC Admissions Today for Info

Hey evryone Im a sophmore applying for a junior transfer to USC. I called admissions to day and asked if they could give me any indication when I would hear from them. The lady said the first week of June I'll get a decision or a request for Spring grades. I asked if being a junior transfer with a fairly good (3.72 at Hofstra,4 year private university in NY) would affect whether or not spring grades would be necessary and she said it didnt matter, but a request for spring grades wouldn't be a bad thing. I also asked when the deadline to submit an admission deposit would be and she told me that it really depends on the situation. So basically, I got nowhere. Anyone else have a "productive" phone conversation with admissions.

ahhhhh 1st week of june... that's so B.S... looks like im going to send a deposit to UCSD.

yeah I just sent a deposit to my second choice already but I'm still holding out hope for usc....

wait wait... if you submit sir to the the UC system, you still wait for USC? What is that?

hey dude, I actually called admissions today and they put me on hold and then HUNG UP on me before I even had a chance to say anything. It sounds like they didn't tell you anything you didn't already know.

I heard they're really disorginized with this stuff though, so this isn't really a huge surprise.

They are just really busy and probably annoyed by the million calls they get.

actually that's not that bad of news, i remember reading somewhere, i think on their website, that they would be making decisions mid-june, so first week of june is earlier than i expected to hear from them. I'm also a soph transfer though.

but i do think it's funny that they had the earliest app due date and the latest decision date

nope... they have latest due date.. It is Feb 1 if i'm not mistaken and I received my acceptance letter the earliest before all the UCs I applied accept me.

oh, yea idk what other california schools had, i just know usc had feb 1 and pomona had like feb 15, while the rest of my schools (in the midwest) had dates mostly around may 1

i'm from the midwest so i mostly only applied to midwest places, which all have later due dates, so feb 1 was early for me. Also Santa Clara if i remember had like march 15 or something

UCs application due date is on Nov 30th 2005 for Fall 2006 quarter; this may be earliest to you.

i'm a transfer, but yeah it was really early compared to the rest of my apps, california is like on a totally different academic schedule, ha

hey Kev, have you decided where you're going to be going to school in the fall?

Hey all- I got my acceptance to santa clara last week. I almost fell over when I got it cuz everyone had been telling be to expect it by the end of june and the website says the first week of june. Do you think they made a mistake or something???!! lol. its wierd

goldenjet... any comment? I'm deciding between UCLA, UCB, UCSD and USC for either engineering or math major.

Kevin, I thought you were going to be a bruin?

Yep! I haven't submitted the SIR yet so hearing some comments would be fine... ee_stu, you don't want to be a Bruin?

I'm having a tough time deciding between being either a Bruin or a Bear. :)
I'm leaning towards UCLA though since it has a straight EE program whereas UCB has EECS. I didn't apply to USC though.

Hey EE, come on... let's be a Bruin, may be i'll taking class in UCLA with you there... yep i'm planning to triple major in math, econ and engineering. :D
