If you've been rejecetd, have any of you ever contacted admissions at the college to ask if they'd give you another chance?

It's called appealing for admission. Some people have done this, but the successful ones that I've heard of didn't just call - they sent personal letters on why they really want to attend X college and extra updated information to go along with it.

Thanks.
Uh-oh, I feel like it's too late now.

can you call them and ask them why you were rejected

Some colleges will provide you, your counselor or your parents with information, while others won't. Some UCs are pretty good about offering some insight, i.e. low SATs, personal essays were less than satisfactory, not enough community service, etc.

it was stanford...

You're the second person I've read today that says they were rejected by Stanford. Were you an early decision applicant? I thought Stanford didn't send their letters until the end of the month.

... not funny

So do I......but you dont see me announcing the whole world................this is public forum.....please keep your religious beliefs to yourself...dont bring religion here

BestMiler1, if you feel that a post is inappropriate and irrelevant, just report it as an offensive post. I've done that a couple of times and the moderators kindly responded by deleting the user.

when things become offensive, the administrators have the right to censor it.....remember its dooley's forum your using not the government's

well then send an e-mail to roger and see what he says

Your comment has nothing to do with the topic as of now, so why shouldn't it be deleted? Go post your religion love in College Confidential Cafe.

Well then go with your bad self ;)

can we PLEASE get back to the original topic? i am also curious about this--i was waitlisted at william and mary, and would like to know if it would even be worth it to call and ask why (whether it was grades, ec's, whatever.)

it seems like if the UCs would do it, other places should. i mean, i paid the application fee and submitted everything required--seems like they would have to tell me something.

it might also help me rest easier (gr?) about the places i have yet to hear from.

Instead of worrying about how many colleges provide info regarding why a student was denied admission, why don't you just contact the school you have an issue with.
