does anybody know the admit rate for int'ls who did apply for Fin Aid?

Yeah, does anyone know? have a vague idea at the least?

Hello?! no response?!

Yeah i am VERY curious about this as well!!!

please help us poor int'ls out with the admit rate!!!!!

I will try to help you. Numbers are from The Daily Pennsylvanian and The College Board.

Take a look at the international ED pool (as you know, this should have a higher acceptance rate than the RD pool). This year out of 538 int'l applicants only 100 were accepted. That is an 18.5% acceptance rate, significantly lower than the overall 28% for the entire ED pool.

Among the internationals accepted, there are of course applicants requesting aid, but among those were Canadians (who are in a separate financial aid pool) and applicants from under-represented countries (who have a slight edge).

Moreover, how many of you have heard of international applicants that were not requesting aid at need-aware universities getting rejected? Such self-financed applicants are surely included in the 100 acceptees.

Penn has 900 international students, but only 225 receive financial aid (that is 1 out of 4 international students).

Draw your own conclusions regarding the individual admission rates.
