calling all gardeners: Can you weed out my college list?

If you do as you’ve described, the Cornell app will go in the RD pile. I think you have a solid chance at Cornell RD. You may as well leave the Cornell app for November because you will get better at tweaking your essays, etc., as you go along.

Your first three schools are great choices. Keep looking for financial safeties and strong matches; these are harder than picking your top three!

thanks a lot everyone that participated in my college discussion. I feel like I’m hogging your time from responding to others’ questions. So I will evaluate these comments and proceed on. I will definitely keep any of you who are interested updated on my endeavors.

menloparkmom and midwesterner - good idea. i’ll just send my UIUC priority date app and Stanford SCEA.

i’m crossing my fingers :)

don’t forget to send in your application to USC before DEC 1 as well, which is OK with Stanford, because it is required in order to be eligible for scholarship consideration.[Institutions whose early application deadlines are a requirement for consideration for special academic programs or scholarships only if the notification of admission occurs after January 1.]
Early applicants to USC who are accepted get the good news in late Jan/ Feb and are invited to come out for scholarship interviews in Feb/March.

Wait! Doesn’t Michigan having rolling admissions?? [ or am I mixing it up with another public U?] Which means the earlier you apply the greater your chances?? It is a PUBLIC U so under Stanford’s SCEA rules you CAN apply early to them as well![Any institution, public or private, under a non-binding Rolling Admission option.] So get that application in pronto!!!

USC - i’ll keep that in mind.

Michigan- yeah, it’s rolling. i’ll decide what to do with that… i think the fee is only 40 dollars and they’ll take my highest composite. so it’s really nice i only have to send one score in.

i really shouldn’t be on this late - haha!
