Did anyone contact their admissions officer after they phoned you? I know it says "please don't hesitate to call" or something to that effect, but I haven't contacted Yale in over a month. Are they prone to think I'm no longer interested in Yale because I really wanna go and that's NOT the image i wanna present

Pffffffff no! That statment means that IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS OR CONCERNS contact them. Not "Hi, ummm, yeah I still like Yale." They would be like "yeah you and 20,000 other kids, who cares?" Besides, if you got the likely letter, it doesn't even matter whether you are still interested or not. You got in!

if you think you're going to be rejected, think again lol

I e-mailed her and asked a few questions about life at Yale.

I exchanged an e-mail or two with my Yale adcom asking about courses (and of course, thanking him.)

...I wouldn't suggest e-mailing your admissions officer over something trivial like "I still like Yale," but I am sure he/she would appreciate your enthusiasm and thanks. Cutting 20,000 kids down to whatever # they take is a grueling process. Letting your admissions officer know you appreciate his/her work and time spent is always a plus. :)

That said, e-mails aren't necessary at all. Chill your face until March 29. Then the madness/euphoria can take hold again!

email only when you actually have a question to ask. they're really busy people

You are fine. Don't worry..be happy. I know, I sound corny.

i've been in touch with my student contact at yale through email and occasionally on the phone. i've also called my admissions officer to ask about bulldog days and financial aid, so i think my interest is pretty clear. but i haven't been communicating with them just for the sake of communicating with them. i'm pretty sure your admissions officer was just letting you know that he/she is a resource and the offer wasn't some kind of a test of your interest in the school. and to echo what some of the others have said, i bet they wouldn't appreciate you calling just to let them know you're still interested...

in any case, just be happy you've been tapped early by yale. it's an amazing honor and i'm pretty sure they won't rescind it simply because you haven't called in a while.

Speaking of bulldog days and financial aid, does the school ever cover travel expenses for it?

No they don't.

actually Level90Paladin, i think they can help with transportation for students who can't afford a flight to new haven. rooster, if you had a situation, i would call your admissions officer about it. i would venture to guess though, that the aid would only be need-based. but you should still ask.

Oh. Well done, sleuth.

lol. i emailed by student contact back but he never responded.. maybe they rescinded my likely. o_O

that's sad to hear. but i'm sure that doesn't have anything to do with the status of your likely--maybe the student contact is just busy. :(

Please remember that Yale is in the midst of its annual two-week spring break. Hence, students may not be around to respond to emails.

Off topic question cuz I'm curious. Is Yale the only institution with a two-week spring break?

Is there some special privilege attached to being contacted by your local admissions officer? Does this imply that Yale is more interested in you than, say, someone who has not been contacted by their admissions officer?
