hey, its spring break and what am i doing? studying for AP exams! can you blame me?
who else is studying for tests? is this so wrong? According to my prep books I should have started studying sooner (like 6 wks ago) but even my best friend called me a "nerd" and it hurts. she has way better grades, and makes me feel bad when i try to put some effort. (btw i m a sophomore)

Parent here. Good for you, Vicky_sky! Keep up the good work.

Just so you know, being a nerd isn't a bad thing. The way I define a nerd is someone really smart. Who cares if your studting for exams? Your probably going to get better scores than here because of your passion.

I see nerd as a good thing and a geek as a bad thing.

I wish I were as proavtice as you are... I probably won't start studying until the break is over.

Do what you like. Who cares if someone else thinks you're a nerd? It's pretty sophomoric (no pun intended) of your "friend" to say that to you anyway. Forget her; good luck with your APs. By the way, they're really not that hard (I'm serious--the curves are astounding--much easier than you'd expect) so don't stress out TOO much :)

I randomly signed up for AP Biology and I've only taken Honors Bio. :D Now, I have to teach myself the whole curriculum in a few weeks. Biology alone isn't too bad. Biology and BC Calculus [I'm in for it ]? Sadly, I have been inflicted with a particularly severe form of the virus Freshmanitus procrastinatus, and it seems that I won't be recovering anytime soon.

And, I think I'm failing Earth Science. Pray for me.

Why, how odd! I too have been severely infected with Freshmanitus procrastinatus. We may have to call House in on this one.

At least I only have 1 AP next year, Human Geography. Both a blessing and a curse.

OMG! I feel the same way studying for SAT II's on Easter break...and I'm like, wow, I'm such a fre-ack. No worries though-If I study a few days now, I'm going to a hellogoodbye concert and seeing legally blonde. Not so nerdy, eh? I say be yourself, and be proud. If you want to do well, what's wrong with that? (any of the so-called friends I had last year as a freshman who said I was "so weird" for studying for the SAT II's, got scores so low they won't tell-and they thought 500 was a great score...no joke. Don't let others get you down)

Me too .

I'm a freshman, so I have no AP courses right now, but I am studying for the SAT Biology test, and I'm only in Bio Honors :D

I presume you have been infected with Freshmanitus procrastinatus as well, Armando?

Unfortunately, yes. I've read 20 pages, that's about it :-/

I hope that you get well soon. It is quite a devastating disease.

Just so you guys know you have it backwards. A geek is good, a nerd is bad. Nerd means you are socially inept, geek kinda just means you have your quirks.

Oh, I've always thought the reverse to be true, makshim.

I've always defined it the other way around, makshim, but that's just me.

Either way it doesn't matter because I'm still socially inept. Not to mention even my friends think I'm "slow."

eeeeeeeeee tuff sweety.

Calling everyone nerds its a big problem at my school. Its not the fault of people that study for there tests.

I guess I'm at the opposite end. I want/need to study for the APs for spring break, I just can't bring my self to it.

The only one I'm studying for is Spanish...I can cram for everything else.
