Calling all Phillips Exeter students......help!

Does anyone know if a specific fundraiser counts as an extracurricular? I’ve done specific started specific fundraisers before I was wondering if that would count as an extracurricular.

OMG. OMG. OMG.
YOU SPEAK BANGLA?!!!
so do i!!!
sorry, its just kinda cool to meet someone like that. anyways, i applied for exeter, but got rejected. i had stats similar to yours, but my ssats werent that good and i was full aid, soo…

well i’m not applying with these recs. i going to have more opportunity for more recs in high school. i’m also hoping to get good ssat scores.
can anyone tell me how hard the SSAT seemed.

for a math/science type person like me, verbal was extremely hard along with reading but math was slightly easier, just a few stupid mistakes. I scored in the 80’s in math, and 70’s for the other two so…

Okay. I’m surprised that no Exonian has responded to this yet…
I’d say you’re pretty much set. I mean, my record wasn’t as impressive.
And you should’ve applied for 9th grade… It’s easiest to get in. But getting in is hardest for 11th grade, so I suggest starting this fall.
Definitely visit a school and interview there. You get a full tour of the school and you get to talk to one of the admissions people [or maybe just a teacher], and it makes a big difference. I know I probably wouldn’t have had that much chance at making it if I didn’t have my interview…

And no cookie cutter applicants. Definitely.

Off topic but I totally agree with #4 on Star Wars. I Can’t believe I missed it… My friends and I have a Star Wars/ Harry Potter/ Doctor Who extravaganza planned for over the summer. 3 day sleepover :D. I was supposed to go to Harry Potter World in summer with them but we cant afford it now with BS :frowning:

o0skimilk0o- Thanks. I think this is most helpful reply that I have received. I think Exeter judges a lot on personality. Everyone can have a ton of extracurriculars and a 4.0 GPA with great SSAT scores and still not get in because their interview didn’t turn out well. I definitely want to go for an on-campus interview though. I didn’t apply for 9th grade because I decided to apply after the deadline. I didn’t think I would have a chance of getting in before the deadline so I missed it. Looking back, it would have been smarter to apply in 9th grade. I’m applying for 10th grade though.
