Calling all Seniors!

What are some advices that you suggest Freshmen, Juniors, and Sophmores follow? (Please make specefic advice. Not advice like join a club or make friends)

For example, I suggest Freshman to join the Scholastic Arts Award. They grade easier for younger kids. It's really hard to get anything Junior or Senior Year.

In terms of academics or social life?

Both is fine. =)

stay off CC until your junior year at least...

OP--why didn't you post this earlier? :(
I was planning to enter next year (junior year).

Oh well. :)

Take the HARDEST classes as soon as possible

If you have a good Freshman GPA it makes high school alot easier

Try and do at least one play in drama, even non-actors enjoy and say it has changed their life

Don't let your parents bring you down

Join Model UN, Debate, and Journalism, they are always enjoyable

Make friends with your teachers, its ok to be personal with them, after all they want to know YOU, and these are the people who will be writing your recommendations

Its NEVER to early to start checking out college campuses

For College: Pick a Major YOU WANT, no matter how far fetched or useless you think it is, then DOUBLE major with something sturdy

Never fear an AP class, the weighting is great, and the best people are in them, even if they are challenging

Take Pictures, as often as possible. High School goes by fast, you don't want to forget it.

Hope this helps!

Amen, TheVeganActress. Take challenging courses, keep an A average, follow your passions in terms of ECs, and don't worry about college until you start junior year at least.

"stay off CC until your junior year at least..."

Uh oh. Too late.

Its along the lines of "join clubs," but go to the dances, and volunteer for class spirit things. You'll make good friends and memories that way.

In terms of academics, I'd say take the hardest course load that you can handle. I don't know how good of a student you are, or your study skills, but all too often I see eager students who take the most rigorous courses and drop the ball with it.

Just enjoy High School, although college is very important, you should never sacrifice your happiness.

Thank God I found this site the summer before Junior year! (perfect timing, eh?) Umm... Do things specifically that you like to make you stand out. It was since finding this site that I became a little less generic. :D

Don't get hung up on goals like "I'm going to be a [enter career here]" or "I'm going to go to ___ [enter college name here]_____." Keep an open mind and let yourself go off and do something unexpected, if that's where the wind blows you. :)

Have fun.

dont burn out before junior year

Don't focus your life around college admissions...

tritiumknight... i completly agree

don't stress out about college stuff... alwasy take time for your freinds... try and avoid writing entire papers the night before they're due...make freinds with the secratary... don't stress abiut college.... smile.... learn to love tuesdays- it makes the rest of the week soo much better.... celebrate "valley"days- i.e wednesdays, cuz from there youre halfway to the weekend.... do something crazy... be yourself....

Stay the hell AWAY from high school drama. Not the club, the actual drama that goes on within the school.

Advice: Don't get caught up in the whole top university race. You will only find yourself crushed in the end with your hard work done in vain. Basically. DO NOT STRESS OVER SCHOOL! It isn't worth it. Give yourself time for relaxation and a social life. Oh yes and also... don't think about college until senior year, but don't stress out because undergrad is pretty much the same anywhere you go.

Don't isolate yourself on internet forums.

DO NOT BLOW OFF FRESHMAN YEAR.
Don't stress out over ranks and GPA until you're a Junior.
Take the most challenging courses you can unless you know that you will not do well in a certaim subject.
Know when you're at your limit in an AP/Honors course.
Learn to swallow your pride if you have to drop down to an Advanced course.
Do not make less than a B+ in an Advanced course.
BE NICE TO YOUR TEACHERS.
Make friends that will help you, not hinder you.
