Calling all south asians applying to pton!!!

i wanted to start a south asian thread for those applying to pton either for ED/RD...........lets get to know eachother and be able to talk about issues that we face in the admissions process that is unique to us only.......!!!!!!
To begin the thread : Im from india( kolkata to be precise).lol

Indian from New Delhi here. So... are you applying ED or RD?

I am Pakistani-American, from Virginia :)

im applying RD and u annandale?
anymore ppl.....dont we have anymore ....last time there was a big joint south asian family appying to pton...:P

which skool gautam? dps?

Polish here, but not international.

i have applied ED....find out my fate in couple of days!

do you think we will be competing against each other or are the internationals and domestics kept seperate?

i mean it would be sick if they pile people up according to race and try to get a percentage of people from each....there is a lot more to a person than his skin color.

yeah exactly annandale. But somehow that inherent bias like "hey this kid is a norwegian...wait but he's just a norwegian CITIZEN...he's ethnically indian" might play a role although they might call me norwegian for stats reasons. Just something that might work psychologically.

Indian-Chinese/Indonesian. Do I belong here?

Wonder what they'll call me?

unique .

bloody hope so, but with my like they'll go: "EEWWWWWWWW Indian and Chinese! Double negative!"

No, Mother's International... you heard of it?

Add me to the list... Applying ED.. Indian origin.. Don't live in India though but 100% "pukka" Indian..........

Live in the Middle East...

south-east asia. can i join?

not applying to princeton, i still have like a year more to go!

I'm Indian-American from MA. I was born in New Delhi, but I've been living here for 7 years.

I'm a Chinese-born Canadian citizen living in NJ

all are welcome to join

but just curious....what exactly is S. Asia?

I thought it was Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Nepal and Bhutan (like the SAARC). I think mostly people think of Pakistanis and Indians as "desis" and then Bengalis and Afghanis (they have a slightly different culture and language), and then the rest....

but then again, ALL are welcomed :)

im paki white and indonesian and speak urdu cause i rock

sweetness.

my parents neglected to teach me their languages. all I can do is understand Indonesian when it's spoken to me.

Pakistani American from NY
