Hey GT3000
I've gotta question for you about the spring grades. What would you say is the minimum gpa for the spring that will not affect admission? Do you know if this happens to a lot of people who want to transfer or just a few? And if you dont mind me asking, since this also happened to you, how were your grades after transferring. My biggest fear is I get in and do not do so well. Also what is your major at U of I. Thanks for the input.

to be safe, i would just really try to get a gpa about the same or better than you did fall semester. just work really hard...the semester is almost over! you've made it this far and if you send them a good gpa you will most likely get it so don't slack off! i dont think this situation happens to many people because i have classes with a lot of transfers and none of them have mentioned it. as far as my grades, my freshman year i went to IU and that place was pretty lame...I got a 3.8 there...first semester soph year at UIUC i got a 3.6 and this semester im looking at a 4.0. my major is kinesiology. the academic counselors here are very helpful (at least in my department). your first semester you wont be expected to take more than around 13 hours- they want you to transition well. hope this helps some

I was admitted with a 3.29 GPA from a community college.

congrats, what college admitted you

LAS, University of Illinois
