calling all upperclassmen!

I have a question for all those people who have already experienced the greatness that is berkeley...

Do you have any advice or recommendations for the incoming freshmen?

In other words, in thinking back on your freshman year, if you could do
it over again, what would you do differently and why?

Thanks a lot!

i wouldve tried meeting more people in my classes

Learn to be a persistant, proactive -- to the point of annoying -- individual. You'll meet more people.

how long does it take a new freshman to do his homework and get an A in the class? like estimate wise. lets say he had a course load like:

math 53
social anthropology
chem 1a
english 1a
some seminar

i have this weird, painful thought in my mind that i will be living in one of those libraries 24 hours near those piles and piles of books. and that ill get my source of vitamin D from those natural sunlight openings.

Thats a pretty scary course load. Its really all over the place, which I think makes things a bit tougher. Its easier if you have classes that are similar so you can stay in one frame of mind. As far as how long homework will take, it really depends on who's teaching those classes. I'd guess that chem and math would have REAL homework (alot of it) while anthro, english, and whatever seminar you have will be more about keeping up with lots and lots of reading.

after looking at the class schedule, i think jumping off evans is only a short matter of time.....for you that is, i'll prolly be watching =D
