Good luck. coolkid007 and everyone else. You will all end up in a nice college. The sad part is there are so many great collegens and you can only choose one in the end.

well we will all know our fates in 24 hours....good luck to everyone

Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yeah, gl guys!!

so... I'm just curious but who hear that got a call actually got in??

I received a call and I was accepted. =] I'm curious as to know... call=admit.

got accepted!!! I didn't believe it at first....and what I don't believe even more is that I got into princeton and yale as well....i guess those essays do mean something after all...glad to hear you got admitted coolkid, are you planning to enroll?

I'm still debating between Harvard and Yale.... Harvard is offering me more $$... =]

coolkid have you been to either? I'm still very undecided and i'm trying to decide between HYP and i'm visiting soon but as of now I have no clue haha

I was accepted to Harvard too after a call :) Deciding between it and Yale, though Yale's giving more finaid so its tough...

Any thoughts on the Harvard/Yale discussion I'd love to hear too...I've been to both but I just don't know. Boston is a bazillion times better than New Haven, imo, but the schools themselves...I got a better "vibe" from Yale but that could have just been my tour.

affle were you able to get a feel to their respective student populations? were the people at yale friendlier/more attractice? how were the people at harvard?

marcus, yeah I've been to both. I'm probably enrolling in Harvard though...

So... are we concluding that call=admit?? haha

I would say a call means strong interest which means probably at worse a waitlist....that is assuming the call isn't for technical reasons such as missing reports etc. and there is actually a conversation between the counselors about the student...in that case I would say that means you're going to have a great great chance of admissions; but again NOT guaranteed admission IMO..

coolkid any reason specifically why you're choosing harvard? besides financial aid

yes. For me, I actually like the city life that Harvard has to offer (Boston). Because Harvard is situated near a big city, I would assume it is also easier to find better opportunities for employment, internships, etc. Although I do like Yale's campus, I dont think that going to a school just because it "looks good" is a good indicator as to whether you should attend that school. Harvard's campus is more spread out and you will kinda have a feeling that the whole city(cambridge) is part of the university whereas in yale, you will definitely feel that the campus is in fact, secluded from the rest of the city. Furthermore, Harvard's alumni network is the best in the world...it doesn't get more prestigious than that. Speaking of prestige, going to Harvard will open ssoooo many doors for future opportunities. If you go to Zimbabwe, for instance, and you tell people that you went to Harvard, they will recognize you whereas, "yale" and "princeton" and "dartmouth" don't wield that kind of power in their names. There will be people who dont know what "dartmouth" is around the world...but everyone will know Harvard. Also, Harvard is strong in almost ALL its fields of study. While you can argue the same for Yale... Yale has been known for being weak on certain areas of study among the ivies, such as economics, for instance. If you've never visited Harvard, I strongly encourage it. I'm actually going up to Harvard this weekend just to visit the campus again. Hopefully, I'll see you next year at Harvard!!

you sure make a great point....and yeah I expect ill see you around haha......im going to visit all three schools admitted weekends but unless I dislike harvard and love one of the other schools for some reason, ill be expecting to attend harvard...oh and do you think harvard's campus is attractive? what are you planning to study?

I actually think the Harvard campus is great. I'm thinking about studying political science/ international relations. You??

i plan on studying biology/chemistry or some sort of mixture but not really certain at this point
