Calling Current UCLA students

If you received an email about the Alumni scholarship, does that mean that you are in the "acceptance" pile and vice versa (if you didn't get an email about the Alumni scholarship, does that mean that you are in the "rejection" pile) ?

Thanks

I would REALLY like to know this as well.

I'm not a current student, but no. It has no effect on your admission. It should say that in bold somewhere on the email, also.

As long as you meet the min. requirements, you get this email. Just do a quick search and you'll find similar past threads.

That worries me though, since I never got the email. My stats are decent (4.14 UC GPA, 32 ACT) but then again, I am out of state...

I was invited as an out of state about a month after I got in, and had my interview for the scholarship in the end of June, the same day as my HS graduation. I later got a letter informing me that I was not going to be awarded the scholarship but should consider coming to UCLA anyway, just 3 months after I signed the SIR.

I'm a UCLA student and I never received a phone call for the alumni scholarship. I filled one out anyways because friends of mine were, and I wound up winning. So, just don't trip if you didn't get a phone call or an email.

Umm, according to a past thread it does say that the commitee tries to target people in the top.

I received a call about that but was not accepted (because of an administrative error that was thankfully corrected), so you can get that call/email and still be in the rejected pile, if they have such a pile yet.
