What were your score progressions from the PSATs to your SATs? and if possible, what are some tips to study for the PSAT...should i just use SAT material? the only PSAT book I have is princeton review.

1st PSAT (sophomore): 1690
2nd PSAT (junior): 1800

1st SAT (March - Junior): 2150+

Blue Book - 1st and 2nd editions - that’s all I used.

1st PSAT (sophmore): rere status(not sure but wasn’t good)
2nd PSAT (junior): 1640
Didnt study for the PSAT, too lazy

SAT (March - Junior): 2050+

Blue Book and Kaplan book

Wouldn’t consider myself i high scorer, but i hold my own.

1st PSAT (soph): 1850
2nd PSAT (junior): 2000

1st SAT (Oct - Junior): 2090
2nd SAT (March - Junior): not sure, maybe 2200+

Book: Princeton Review

1st PSAT (fresh): 1810
2nd PSAT (soph): 1940
3rd PSAT (junior): 2140

1st SAT (Jan): 2210
2nd SAT (Mar): 2300+

I used the the Princeton Review as well but barely
Just use any SAT material you have

ok sounds good, how much do u think i can increase from freshman to junior year if I’m scoring the ranges of 1870-2080?

I would say anything from 2300-2400 is within reach, assuming you study enough.

If you consistently practice and study, then it’s possible to achieve 2300+, even a 2400.

1st PSAT (sophomore): 220
2nd PSAT (junior): 240

1st SAT (January - junior): 2400

I did not study for the 1st PSAT, although in the summer prior to that, I took a practice SAT test held by Kaplan and got a 1980 (or some other awful score, haha, my parents were on the verge of committing suicide, they were so convinced that I was going to fail the SAT). I began studying in the summer before junior year. I continued to study SAT problems for the PSAT, and then the SAT.

soph PSAT - 184
junior PSAT - 199 (totally laid eggs on these)

1st practice test (4 weeks before March SAT, no prep) - 1910
2nd practice test (2 weeks before) - 2030
3rd practice test (1 week before) - 2090

1st SAT (March - projected; I hope so) - 2230

resources: RR, BB, Barron’s 2400, DH, CC :)

Soph PSAT - 215
Junior PSAT - 230

Jan SAT - 2370
March SAT - Possibly 2400

I didn’t study a thing for either PSAT’s and only used the College Board Blue Book 2nd edition for the SATs. I believe I took 3 Practice tests before January and 1 before March.

To study for either the PSAT/SAT, just use Blue Book practice tests. For vocab just read Direct Hits.

Junior PSAT: 225
Most likely SAT Superscore: 2320

Without studying for psats:
PSAT 1: 189
PSAT 2: 215

After cramming most of the words from the kaplan flip-o-matics (basic & extreme) & using the blue book:
SAT 1 (January 2010): 2400

psat 1: 187
psat 2: 187

SAT 1: 2160
SAT 2: 2270

I dont know what the hell happened to my psat scores but SATs were definitely much better. I studied mainly just reading from SAT 1 to SAT 2.

PSAT - 200
SAT 1st - 2100
SAT 2nd - 2090

I fail.

PSAT: 200 (as a sophomore, never bothered studying.)
SAT: 2190 (first try, may 09 as a junior)
SAT: 2400 (oct 09 as a senior)

I studied a lot for the sat the second time around, but didn’t worry about the PSAT at all… Does it matter for anything other than national merit?

Sophomore PSAT - 200
Junior PSAT - 207
Junior SAT (November) - 2230
Junior SAT (January) - 2300 (all three sections rose)

Sophomore PSAT: 219
Junior PSAT: 225
Junior SAT: 2300
Senior SAT: 2400

Didn’t study for the PSATs other than that practice booklet you get. And hb730, no it doesn’t really count for anything other than national merit and related scholarships.

Wow yodastreet, you must be really smart to get scores like that without studying :)

and @ everyone else: thanks a lot for the help! I feel confident on being able to score a 2300+ and you guys all have amazing scores!!

BS. There are around 7000 scores above 2300 in a year. So obviously not everyone who study can get 2300 plus.
