Hi, I saw you're in Maine, so I thought maybe you could help me. I have the choice between UT and Colby College. I'm a Texas girl born and bred, but I can also see myself at Colby. In your opinion which has better resources/after graduate opportunities?

I’m obviously not who you’re looking for, but UT definitely has more resources and better corporate connections for jobs.

I would choose UT over Colby without a second thought. UT’s resources are amazing, and the alumni are EVERYWHERE - they love hiring Texas grads!

At UT, you WILL have to be proactive and look for opportunities. Nobody is going to spoon feed you!

If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask!

After spending a year at UT. I would definitely tell you that Colby is a better option. Colby is awesome. Plus Maine is way better then Texas. Colby is very successful in its placement of graduate students. Recent placements include Harvard, Yale, MIT, Columbia, Northwestern, Dartmouth, University of Chicago, Oxford, University of Pennsylvania and Stanford.
Colby has a near 100% admit rate to medical school for students with above a 3.5 GPA and an overall placement of 75% to medical school
