I am very nervously waiting to hear from Bryn Mawr early decision. I was just wondering…what would happen if a student were to call the admission’s office and ask if they had gotten in or not. I am too scared to do this (in case they had not yet decided), but is this inappropriate or annoying? Have any applicants tried this? Would they even tell you whether or not you had been accepted?
I know this is a ridiculous question, but thought I’d ask because I’m impatient and nervous
Thanks!!

Don't do it. It will probably annoy them, and almost no schools will give you a decision via phone. However, it would be fine to just ask when to expect decisions, etc. Just don't tell them your name to be safe.

See my post in the Bryn Mawr thread, brighteyes.

Basically, it's not a good idea.

Thanks, I'm glad I checked here first. :)
I'm just impatient, but the wait will be over soon.

Just wait really. Just relax. Make sure that you do have a back-up plan so you can say... alright this is what is going to happen now when the time comes!

My friend at Bryn Mawr now... she was so loved by the committee that her area rep gave her a call on a Friday afternoon when she was out... She was definitely nervous and had to wait until Monday morning to find out what was wrong.... nothing wrong- she got in! This is a rare case :)
