Son just got acceptance through email, with 25K Founders scholarship plus 2,500 Other Donor scholarship.
There was no mention of getting invited for Honors Day. Has anyone received invitation for Honors Day? Does Honors Day invitation come at a later time, or does it always come together with acceptance letter.
He submitted application by Oct 31.
This is his first acceptance But this is not his first choice school, cause the cost is still not affordable to us even with this scholarship.
My daughter was accepted also. She didn’t hear anything about Honors Day either but she said that on the website it says they will notify eligible applicants in January - so she is hoping that is the case. I thought they were notified when accepted (?)

Congrats to your daughter. Did she get merit scholarship?
Thank you. She did. She received the Regents scholarship (not sure what the different names mean, they all seem to be similar in amount)
Has anyone had an invitation to Honors Day? I know they said eligible students would be notified in January, but just wondering if that already happened or it’s still too early?
Son has not yet received Honors Day invitation.

Hope your interview went well!
Please share your thoughts if you don’t mind
It went well! The 30 minutes surely went by fast. There were two faculty members that switched off asking questions and were super friendly. Do not want to give too much away, but I hope everyone has a great interview where you can elaborate on your passions and fondness for Cal Lu!

Congrats to all here! My DD is a junior. She has her heart set on Cal Lutheran but seems pricey. Can someone share stats that received a merit based scholarship? I am just wondering if I should start encouraging her enthusiasm towards a less expensive school instead,—(we would not qualify for needs based but with another kid in college and my husband near retirement $62K is just too hard to swing)
She has a 3.7, three US Presidential awards for Volunteering, other scholastic awards from the high school, leadership positions in a variety of clubs, CSF, and color guard.
I received a $30,000 merit scholarship with a 4.3 gpa and lots of leadership roles! They seem to be very generous with scholarship money to those who were very involved in high school

My son’s HS weighted GPA (year 9-11) is 4.13. At time of application, he also has completed 13 units of CCollege courses with 4.0 GPA.
He has excellent sports EC (won 1st place in international competition), lots of leadership & volunteer hours in his sports, participates in a stem club in school, and some volunteer hours for church.
He’s confirmed for 26K merit scholarship and will have the Pres’l scholarship interview next week. Not counting too much on getting significant additional merit, but we’ll see.
His major is CS, and I feel that other CSUs have much better CS program than CalLu so CalLu is lower on our priority list specially cause it’s still pricey even with the merit award. We’re also not qualified for financial aid.
Still waiting for admissions though on other CSUs and a few UCs also.

Which scholarship was it that you got? I can’t figure out what the differences are between the scholarships. It seems like the $ amounts between different scholarships are sometimes the same, so wondering what the difference is (maybe it’s just who funds, them, idk, just seems interesting).
I received the Regents Scholarship ($25,000) and Donor Sponsored Scholarship ($5,000).

Has anyone heard back on Presidential scholarship yet? Do they only notify you if you get one?
Ya they sent me an email about it. It was titled a presidential scholarship but not a full ride or close to one. Mine was a pretty small bump from my initial scholarship, so I am guessing they are sending out the smaller ones out first, and then will build up.
Congratulations…she also got an email today (also with just a small increase). So now we wait to see full FA package (and hear from last 3 schools)
