CalNetID? (Berkeley admits)

As admitted students, are we supposed to create one? I've tried, and it's just telling me "invalid format", though I'm quite sure I'm doing it correctly. I'm wondering now if I'm even supposed to be registering with that at all. Honestly, all I want to do is check my financial aid awards, but it says you need a CalNetId to do so.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

I created a CalNetID with no problems and was then able to view financial aid. I would double check the rules for password etc…if no luck, then call on Monday.

Thanks so much, that actually helped a lot. I just wanted to know that it is possible.

Cheers! :D

I hate to be so invasive, but what is an example of a “good” (meaning acceptable) ID? I just need to see any one, not necessarily yours, of course.

Thanks.

Well, it seems like it should be kind of professional, so I’d say just some form of your name.

Ex: Like if your name way John Micheal Smith
jsmith
johnsmith
john.smith
jmsmith
john.m.smith (although I don’t like this one)

or just something like that

Thanks. That’s what I thought. For some reason it just won’t work for me. I’ve tried literally everything in terms of naming. It must be something else.

Maybe I should have asked this first: Do you actually have to register before you can get your CalNetID? If so, then is there any way to see your financial aid info before you sign your intent to register?

No, you don’t have to submit your SIR to create a CalNet ID.
Sorry that you’re having problems Dystopia, but I created mine w/o problems. I suggest you call them so see what’s up.
