I have just completed FAFSA with an EFC of 00000. I am extremely nervous about finding out, and as wondering if anyone has any ideas on if I have a good chance or not. I also have been having a heck of a time with the admission because the office lost my fee check and I have finally been able to track down the copy and emailed it, but have not received a reply yet. They claim that it will not effect my chances, but it is still making me very nervous, and I have made it extremely clear that it is my top choice. Any ideas?

If you are asking for chances, the average Freshman GPA was 4.08 and SAT (Math + CR) was 1388 for Engineering. Your GPA looks good but your SAT is low. I would give you a 50/50 chance for acceptance at SLO.

Yeah, I know. My family couldn’t really afford for me to take it more than once, and although it doesn’t account for much, I am really hoping the volunteer with help out. I have also taken engineering classes and am currently dual enrolled so I go to Eastern Washington University while in high school, which might help too.

SLO puts little emphasis for EC’s and Volunteer work. They are strictly numbers based. I wish you good luck. My younger son is anxiously waiting for a decision. He applied for Software Engineering and in-state. I only give him a 50/50 chance due to a lower than average GPA.

The above poster is right in that your SAT isnt really within their average. Your GPA is fine though so id say you’re a high match.

My thread (chance back please): <a href=“Chances for Vanderbilt, UNC, NYU, UF, and Duke? - Chance Me / Match Me! - College Confidential Forums”>http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1610985-chances-for-vanderbilt-unc-nyu-uf-and-duke-p1.html</a>

They give extra credit for taking specific courses in high school. In your case, high GPA and low SAT, It could go either way - I agree with the 50-50 assessment.
