Hey y'all, I am Lmcleod1 and I am new to this site. I know there are other threads out there about Calpoly admissions, but I figured why not start one for 2014 admissions. I was wondering if anyone could tell me if I have a chance at calpoly slo. All of my junior and senior classes are university classes at Eastern Washington University though the Running Start program, so I actually go to the college instead of high school. I have had 4 B's in my high school career and 3 of them where in college classes here at EWU and one was in an engineering class. I have over 1000 hours of community service and I work 40+ hours weeks during the holiday season. I am part of robotics club at my high school where my team took first place for the two years that were available. I have taken 2 years of engineering classes at my high school through Project Lead the Way too. Please feel free to leave advice, or any information on calpoly and good to y'all on your admissions!

P.S. I know I posted a thread like this before, but I figured I'd get some more opinions and add some more information. Thanks!

To start off, I also applied ED to slo because its awesome lol! You have a great g.p.a, course rigor, and wonderful E.C. on the downside, the SAT scores are pretty low for slo, but im pretty sure you already know that. For a school like them that only looks at gpa and scores pretty much, i would say it is a match/ maybe reach. I really hope yoh get in. Good luck to ya! UW I think you should get into because you have everything spot on. I hope to see you at SLO

Thank you so much! I hope you get in too! What’s your desired major?

Ha ha, I live right next to the MAC  I attend high school in Spokane as well. Really solid EC’s, I would think you would ahve a good chance as any one else. By the way, I am applying to Cal poly as well.

May the odds ever be in your favour

Jay

Sweet! Thank you! May the odds be ever in your favor as well!

For incomimg freshman to get into Cal poly engineering you typically need high 1300 or 1400 sat cr+m. It has gotten extremely competitive recently. Last year some 2000+ total sat kids were rejected. Your GPA does look pretty good though. Best of luck

Your GPA is fantastic, but your SAT leaves something to be desired.

Thanks y’all! I know my SAT scores are pretty low, but I am just gonna throw the coin in the fountain and take my chances. I know extra curriculars ren’t much, but maybe they will see some of them and my grades from the university. Hope to see y’all there!
