I was wandering if someone has data on the transfer acceptance rate of CALS admission by majors, especially:
Biological sciences, Biol&Society, Biometry&Statistics

Generally, how competitive are these majors opposed to each others among Current students?

Hands down Bio is going to be the hardest. You’ve got every pre-med in the country shooting for this major, so the admissions committee will be generally more selective.

Choosing between the other two will come down to your background and academic interests. They are both relatively small majors, and will therefore be more excited to let their departments grow. I would say Biom&Stat is a bit smaller since most people shy away from math, but still follow this rule:

If you have a strong math background go for Biom&Stat.
If you are interested in liberal arts go for Bio&Soc.

I am a senior in the Biom&Stat major so I can probably answer any other questions you may have. Let me know.

Hey - I am a senior and have applied for early admission into Biometry and Statistics. How many majors do they accept and how hard is it to get into? Also, I am interested in Biometrics and facial recognition. Do you learn about that? How hard are the classes and is it easy to double major? Thanks so much!

sorry that this is a little while later (not too much later, plus now that applying is done the forum is dying down), I just wanted to see if anyone could answer NYProspect’s question about the biometrics major and also if you could just share whatever you know about it because I’m really interested in it.
