CALS and AEM Relationship

I'm very interested in Cornell's Dyson's Applied Economics Management. However, I noticed that it is under the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences...I have no intentions of pursuing any kind of business degree that is related to agriculture or life science. Is AEM its own separate entity and you only learn strictly business related things, or is it tied to business in agriculture and life sciences?

I'm hoping that AEM is its own separate thing and just happens to be under CALS....

Thanks in advance.

you thought right.

AEM is in CALS because of its history. Most students are mainstream business and do not have anything to do with Ag. At the same time, though, students get to take advantage of CALS’ relatively easier distribution requirements.

So AEM and CALS are related more in name, but not really in terms of what they teach? Is it correct for me to say that AEM is separate from CALS and strictly business related stuff? thanks guys!

yes. they were planning on spinning off aem supposedly until dyson threw us money on the condition that we stay within cals
