CALS Discussion Class of 2021

Hi everyone! I thought I would start a discussion thread for Cornell CALS applicants. I was wondering if CALS admissions would look at my SAT subject scores even if they were not required… Thanks!

Best,

KaleSeed

@KaleSeed They look at everything you send them. If your SAT II scores are high then send them. It doesn’t hurt. But it also depends on your major. If you want to major Agriculture but you send them an 800 for English, it might not have as much impact.

I sent them an 800 in chemistry and an 800 in math 2

BTW Thanks! (:

Oh! And I’m majoring in food science

Ag Sciences major here. Only 70 more days until we hear a decision!

EnviroEn major. Hello farmers :slight_smile:

Applied to CALS Cornell although it was a major major reach. I am well suited and a good match for environmental science - hoping that counts, but seriously doubt I will get in.

Still the school is quite appealing for any sort of environmental study.

I applied as a Biological Sciences major. Anyone willing to chance me? Just view my profile. Thanks in advance!

@ivydreamer2021, I wouldn’t know how to begin to change anyone for CALS - seems like they really look for a good match in addition to grades and test scores, which does make sense if they are asking that you select a major before even setting foot on campus. Seems like a great school, CALS…fingers crossed for everyone.

@elise303, what major are you going for?

@ivydreamer, Environmental science.

what are the most competitive majors within cals? in terms of admission ofc

@ezbreezy8022, Environmental science is competitive.

what about biometry @elise303

@ezbreezy8022, I am not sure. I don’t know much about that one. I would not think so, but I don’t know for certain.

@elise303 Environmental Engineering?

Thanks

I actually meant environmental and sustainability science. I was told by admissions that this one of the most popular majors.

I applied as a Biological Sciences major. Anyone else apply with this major?
